Regular Decision College Application: Hurry Up and Wait

Regular Decision College Application: Hurry Up and Wait
I know, just being a senior and on the cusp of adulthood and major life changes, can be enough stress to strain any well-balanced student. Now you are asked to patiently wait for the “Regular Decision” decisions to arrive. C’mon!

There are a lot of ways to work through this anxious time. First, understand that this is part of life. Not everything is going to come in your time; it will come in its own time.

What? That didn’t help?

Ok, then. Distract yourself. There’s plenty to do out there. Do you have a safety school on your list? If not, then apply, and quickly! Have Plan B at the ready should the decision not go your way. Hope for the best and plan for the worst. And don’t let your grades slip. Colleges will look at your final grades and if any decline significantly, a school can pull your acceptance. Yep, you heard that right. Don’t slow down before you cross the finish line.
And there’s one piece of advice that I give all my students. It’s this: things happen for a reason. While you may not know it now, and may even be really upset that something didn’t happen the way you had hoped, you will end up right where you belong.

I’ve seen it happen time and time again.
