STUDENT APPLICATION QUESTIONS
Should I pull together a student resume? How do I list my activities on the Common Application? Do I have to answer all of the questions that they ask? Should I answer “yes” when they ask if I’m applying for financial aid? How do I know what supplemental questions each college has and how should I answer them? When should I start completing my applications and what does it involve? A process that appears simple and straightforward on the surface is far from simplistic when you get under the hood. These are all questions and more that need to be carefully looked at and understood prior to submitting any materials to a college for a student’s application.
Colleges Accept Applications… Not Students
Colleges don’t accept students, they accept applications. When all of the college admissions counselors are sitting in a room and presenting and then voting on whether to accept a student, they have the student’s application package, not the student, in front of them. How you present yourself in that application is paramount.

Having someone help a student and their family navigate the application process and manage each piece with knowledge and understanding can be integral to a student being accepted or not to a college.
