Admission Acceptance Rates are Declining

Admission Acceptance Rates are Declining: Ryan, a very bright and high achieving student, has been told for as long as he can remember that he’s going to attend an Ivy League school. It is meant to be. How could it not? He’s in the top 5% of his class, scored above a 1500 on his SATs and a 34 on his ACTs. Which school wouldn’t want him?!?

I’m realistic and tell it like it is with all of my families, which they express their appreciation for, but that still doesn’t take the sting off of fully comprehending and embracing where you stand when it comes to gaining acceptance to those highly selective colleges.

There are 2 links below to recently released articles that outline the declining acceptance rates not only at the Ivy’s, but trends at some other notable colleges and universities as well.

Rejection is difficult, but a rite of passage, a necessity in life and a part of growing up. Understanding which schools are right for you is ever more important in today’s crazy college admissions world. Knowledge is power and sticking your head in the sand and not understanding what this means to you can cause significant grief and disbelief in the end.

Don’t let the college’s you get accepted to, or rejected from, define you. It is a point in time and NOT who you are. You get to define who you are as you head down your life’s journey. Read more about Admission Acceptance Rates  at the links below:
