Building your college list is an exciting process, but it takes some reflection and research to do it well. At Signature College Counseling, we help students discover colleges that are great fits by getting to know them. Through questionnaires and conversation, we learn about your goals, needs, and interests before creating a personalized list tailored to you. We also teach you how to research colleges on your own. Using a special software program developed for independent college counselors, we give you access to a variety of resources that make exploring colleges easier so you can determine whether each college is a S.A.F.E. match (social, academic, financial, and emotional).
Outside of this software program are several great resources you can try on your own. Here are just two college search apps that are both informative and fun!
H2: The College Tour
Do you prefer watching videos instead of reading brochures? If so, check out The College Tour! This TV series is now in its 14th season and takes you onto campuses all over the country. You hear directly from real students about what life is like at their colleges. You can watch episodes on their app, online, or through streaming platforms like Prime Video. It’s a great way to get a feel for what different colleges offer and look like.
H2: Loper
If you love swiping, Loper is a fun way to explore colleges. It can feel like a game, asking you to answer questions about what is important to you. Based on your answers, the app uses AI to suggest colleges you might love. It’s interactive and fun and allows you to discover colleges based on your own priorities.
These two apps are just a couple ways for you to kick off your college search. Whether you’re swiping through Loper or binging episodes of The College Tour, make sure you take note of what speaks to you and compare your options. Remember, the more research you do, the more confident you’ll feel about finalizing your college list.
